If pain lasts more than 24 hours, wakes you at night, or comes with swelling or fever, book the same day. Untreated pulpal infection can spread quickly.
Bleeding gums usually signal gingivitis — reversible with a professional clean and better home care. Left alone, it can progress to periodontitis and bone loss.
In most adult cases, yes. Invisible aligners (Invisalign, ClearPath) correct crowding, spacing and mild bite issues in 6–18 months.
80% of chronic bad breath comes from the mouth — plaque, gum disease, or a cracked filling. We diagnose the source and treat the cause, not just mask it.
Usually no. Sensitivity from exposed dentine, recession or a cracked tooth responds well to targeted treatment — from desensitizing to bonding or endodontics.
Symptom guide
What your tooth pain is really telling you.
Toothache isn't one thing — it's a signal with several causes. Sharp, cold-triggered pain usually means dentin hypersensitivity or an early cavity. A dull, spontaneous throb that keeps you up at night is often pulpitis (nerve inflammation) needing root canal therapy. Pressure with a bad taste hints at a dental abscess and needs same-day drainage. Facial swelling with fever is an emergency.
Sensitive teeth (cold, sweet, air)
Usually exposed dentin from receding gums, worn enamel, or an early cavity. Fluoride varnish + a desensitising paste helps mild cases; deeper decay needs a composite filling. Book if it lasts >30 seconds after the trigger.
Bleeding gums when you brush
Almost always gingivitis — reversible with a professional scaling & root planing. If left, it advances to periodontitis (bone loss). RCC's periodontist treats both, and laser gum therapy is available for advanced cases.
Bad breath that won't go away
Halitosis usually starts on the tongue and between teeth. A deep clean plus a bespoke home-care routine resolves most cases in two visits. Persistent bad breath despite good hygiene can signal gum disease or a dry mouth.
Knocked-out permanent tooth? Keep it in milk or saliva — reimplantation success drops after 60 minutes.
Cracked tooth? Avoid chewing on that side and book within 48 hours before it splits further.
Wisdom-tooth swelling? Warm saline rinses, ibuprofen, and a same-week consult — do not self-extract.
Cavity you can see? A composite (tooth-coloured) filling in one visit prevents nerve damage later.
Missing tooth for over 6 months? Adjacent teeth tilt inwards — implants stop further shift.
